Society of Scottish Artists

I've just uploaded 3 of my paintings for the SSA to peruse and decide whether they will be in the exhibition or not... here's hoping.
Anyway... here they are:

Twenty-ninth day of September

twentyninth

A quick sketch but the interesting thing about this piece is that I drew it with my new pen.
I made the pen after looking at a calligraphy book by Denise Lach. Apart from the calligraphy being totally inspiring it showed you how to make a 'cola pen'. (There are other soft drinks cans available)
It is very easy and the results are lovely for writing. The drawing side of it is just an experiment but I must say the different line thickness available is excellent.

7 days left of September

Yes... 7 more days of this month left and then it's only one month to go.
I have been in contact with Exhibitions at my university and they have agreed to let me exhibit the whole 365 portraits in November.
Very excited!
Although it is going to be scary to see that many versions of myself. Also getting feedback from others.

Here are portraits up until 23rd September.

Two weeks into September

Here is the update. Day fourteen is complete and I'm not sure where the month is going to. First proper week into 2nd year Masters and my get up and go has definitely done that, nowhere to be seen.

Starting 2nd year P/T Masters

Here I am,
The beginning of another.. well not just any, but my final year at Duncan of Jordanstone.  Provisionally met the other new students and will be giving a tour around the campus to them later today. Better get my facts straight than... no pressure.. gulp!

Most certainly lots of interesting people who've done lots of different things in their lives. Lots to learn and much to talk about.

Incidentally, here are the next lot of portraits.

SEPTEMBER!!!

Sorry for shouting, but it's September and the penultimate month has arrived.

Yup, feeling a little blue. All my fellow MFA students have now finished and there is just me. Quite strange, but on a lighter note, or even a more yellow, upbeat note. The next cohort of MFA Art & Humanities students matriculates next week.
